831 Instant-Record Tabs-In Cassettes

831 cassettes are identical to the 731 line except they use the oxide leader to make them instant record. In select colors you can choose cassettes in our standard lengths. Custom lengths are available from 1-to-110 minutes. Call for quote: 417-863-1925.

We offer ONLY tabs-in cassettes in the 831 line because your recording devices will require tabs-in.

The length of the tape refers to the full recordable time on both sides of the tape. For instance, a C-60 cassette has 30 minutes of record time on each side.

Custom tape lengths are available, any play time from
C-1 to C-110.

Choosing the best shells for your recording or duplication application:

TABS-IN

The record tabs on the cassette spine are present. This allows the cassette to be recorded in any equipment. The tabs may be punched out after recording to prevent erasure.

TABS-OUT

The record tabs on the cassette spine are omitted to
prevent accidental erasure. This feature is for high-
speed duplication copies on Recordex, Telex and Sony
duplicators. Record tab notches may be “taped-over” for
use on standard cassette recording equipment.

Choosing between 731 Standard Leader and 831 Instant Record Oxide Leader cassettes:

STANDARD TRANSPARENT LEADER

The standard leader performs properly in optical auto-reverse equipment and matches the traditional appearance of other brand cassettes. Select Tabs in or Tabs-out.

INSTANT RECORD OXIDE LEADER

You take great care in making your master tape. Instant record cassettes assure that you will copy your whole program every time. With recordable oxide leader, you will never again miss the first or last words from your master tape. Music quality oxide leader begins recording instantly and eliminates lost program material due to master cassettes with irregular leader length.

CHROME NOTCH CASSETTE SHELLS:

Chrome and Chrome-Plus tapes are type II. This means they offer higher output and improved recording performance compared to the normal cassette tape. They also require higher bias current to record properly. If your recorder has a “chrome” or “Type II” setting, you should select that when recording these tapes. Many recorders are equipped with automatic bias selection. This means they have a sensor that “feels” for the chrome notch on the cassette and bias accordingly. National audio manufactures all blank chrome cassettes using chrome notch shells to insure proper performance on your recorder using either system.
